ENFORCEMENT

The RTC is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of its residents through stringent enforcement measures. The Health Department has implemented various enforcement actions to uphold regulations related to Public Health and Safety. This includes the enforcement of the Litter Act 2008, Tobacco Act 2010, Food Safety Act 2003 and Food Safety Regulation 2009 and Public Health Act CAP 111.

Litter Act Enforcement

The RTC enforces the Litter Act to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the Town. Through regular monitoring and inspections, individuals or business found littering are subject to fines or penalties as per the provisions of the Litter Act 2008.

Tobacco Act Enforcement

To promote a smoke free environment, the Health and Enforcement Department rigorously enforces the Tobacco Act in Town Areas. This includes prohibiting smoking in designated public areas and ensuring compliance with regulations related to tobacco sales and advertising

Food Safety Enforcement

In order to safeguard Public Health, strict enforcement of the Food Safety Act 2003 and Food Safety Regulation 2009 is carried out by the Council. Food establishment are regularly inspected to ensure compliance with hygiene standards, proper food handling practices, food licensing and adherence to regulations concerning food safety.

Public Health Nuisance Enforcement

The RTC addresses Public Health Nuisances that may pose a risk to the community. This includes taking action against issues such as unsanitary conditions, improper waste disposal, and other factors that may impact Public Health negatively.

By actively enforcing these Regulations, the RTC aims to create a safe, clean and healthy environment. Through educating, monitoring and enforcement actions, the Council endeavors to promote compliance and prevent potential health hazards in the community.
